Some years ago, women made The Rules their Bible. It was a guidebook on how to manipulate men into marriage. Men felt duped, confused, and used—and the con game set male-female relationships back. Today men are still perplexed about how to relate to women, and women are similarly perplexed when it comes to dealing with men.

Finally, will both genders please decide what they want? In her song, “Where Have All the Cowboys Gone?,” Paula Cole laments, “Where is my John Wayne?, Where is my happy ending?, Where have all the cowboys gone?” Most women fantasize having an Alpha dude—for protection, shelter, and guidance. But there’s a drawback. In their attempt to provide the virility they think women want, tough guys have shelved their sensitivity—and have lost part of what it means to be alive.

This non-spoken arrangement is ironic: After she snags her tough guy, the woman who thought she wanted Rambo, decides he’s really Dumbo—too distant and unwieldy to love. So she replaces Marlboro Man with Marshmallow Manwhom she believes it is her mission to mold. See, somewhere in her upbringing, she deduced that she’s the Relationship Police, and no man is complete until she “fixes” him. Unfortunately, her new model soon loses his appeal because this guy becomes a backbone-challenged jellyfish—after all, without spurs or spine. Now the woman complains he’s too soft! What a relationship mess!

Who’s fooling whom? Hollywood cowboys on camera are as fictitious as Cinderella and that monarch with the shoe fetish. Although my book warns women, “Don’t Bet on the Prince!,” my message only hits their hollow earrings. Women insist they need a gaucho to rescue them. (From what, even they don’t know!), and men unwittingly play into this fractured feminine assumption. After all, they want to feel needed. (Of course, this proves that, despite what women think, men truly do want love, and are even willing to twist themselves into pretzels to get it.)

In the end, nobody ends up with what s/he thought s/he wanted, and both genders feel misled, angry, and alone. Yet sadly, they continue their feckless efforts to pursue new partners in the same vein. Ofcourse, nothing changes. As my Gilda-Gram advises, “What you struggle to get, you struggle to keep.” And subterfuge is an impossible base for lasting love.

But, ahhh, things may have begun to move onto healthier terrain. Tony Soprano started it, as he sat in therapy. Now some Alpha Men have been embracing their taskmaster toughness, while also acknowledging their compassion. Half the subscribers to my Instant Advice service on my site are now men. They are honest, real and raw, unabashedly displaying relationship pain, yet craving answers on how to make their love lives work.

Okay, here’s the skinny from a female relationship expert. Gals may be uncertain about what they want from you dudes, but there are definite behaviors to which women respond. Try these on for size, and see if your Relate-ability Quotient doesn’t rise.

7 Rules for Relating to Women:

1) You may not understand women (and many women admit they don’t understand themselves), but you can ask questions about a woman’s life and dole out honest compliments.

OUTCOME: Women’s egos are massaged when they feel noticed anddesired. This is separate from trying to seduce them! (However, the better your ego massage technique, the closer you’ll get to the sack!!)

2) Women want supportive love. If your woman doesn’t know how to give it, show her by example.

OUTCOME: Your behavior, not your words, is a woman’s greatest teacher on how to return the love YOU want. Go out of your way unconditionally, inconvenience yourself, and deliver niceties that are totally unexpected.

3) Share your feelings—and your fears—with your lady. As my Gilda-Gram says, “Self-disclosure is symmetrical.”

OUTCOME: Little by little, open up about your preferences and your goals. As you become more vulnerable, so will your lady. Openness and vulnerability bond a relationship.

4) Pursue activities that inspire you, despite what she may think of them.

OUTCOME: Your expression of delight and joy becomes contagious. Your woman will want to share your optimism with you. She may choose to join you in activities she originally rejected, or she may just bask in your enthusiasm when you return to her. />

5) The less confused you are in understanding your woman, the less manipulated you will be by her.

OUTCOME: A man’s confusion makes a woman feel he’s weak, malleable, and ripe for “fixing.” Demonstrate respect for your woman’s perspective, but remain committed to your own. She’ll show a new admiration for you.

6) Don’t let a woman try to change anything about you with which you are content—unless you’re into dangerous or unhealthy activities. Display your strength by projecting who you are, and let her know you’re happy as you are.

The 1991 movie, “City Slickers,” depicted some big city guys with mid-life crises. To seek answers, they spent two weeks renewing themselves as cowboys out west. THE SPIRITUALIZED MAN OF THE NEW AGE by J.E. Ante

Souls have the positive, negative, and neutral aspects of existence. When souls are sent to experience human existence only two aspects are used to create a human being by the masters of karmic existence. The human souls are split apart into the positive and negative aspects and the third neutral aspect goes with the soul aspect that is manifesting a human existence or physical body.

A male human is made up of mostly the positive and the neutral aspects of soul and the feminine aspect of soul is left unmanifest. The female human is made up of the majority of the negative and the neutral aspects of soul and the positive soul aspect is left unmanifest. This separation of soul creates a lifelong search for the human’s better half in the opposite sex and it creates much tension and frustration in the human experience. But what humans are really looking for is not another person in the opposite sex but rather the completion of themselves in spirit or wholeness.

The humans of the New Age will realize this spiritual separation of themselves and learn the spiritual techniques tocombine all three soul aspects into one whole human of the positive, negative, and neutral aspects. This is done naturally as the third eye awareness becomes established in contemplation and meditation. With the third eye focus of meditation the consciousness expands in the third eye and crown chakras and universal love become established in the heart center.

Men today live in spiritual ignorance so that they can experience great pain and suffering of the separation from self and God and learn the lesson of separation, pain, and suffering. Eventually a soul will long for wholeness and so they become the Seeker of wisdom and wholeness. The seeking for spiritual attainment of enlightenment is called the Path of the Seeker. Eventually the Seeker will realize that the outer worlds of life do not hold the wholeness that they are seeking and they will turn within. Then many lifetimes of trial and error of contemplation and meditation will result with the seeker trying many spiritual teachers to attain enlightenment and wholeness.

In the meditation of a seeker wisdom will develop when the focus is on the third eye to expand awareness and leave the bodyconsciousness. Wisdom and knowledge of life eventually becomes profound from the travels of the soul out of the body or the expanded consciousness experiences of meditation which are much the same.

Next the heart center opens with self-love and universal love for all and this attracts the missing aspect of the positive or the negative aspect of soul that is unmanifest. This unmanifest soul aspect is always near a human being but is not attracted until the soul cries out for union and wholeness of spirit and starts upon the spiritual path — or wholeness of spirit. Then the unmanifest aspect of soul is always nearby waiting for the time of union and wholeness as the human seeker begins its journey of self-discovery for wholeness.

Eventually the heart center which is the home of the neutral soul aspect becomes full of universal love and love of self. This universal heart chakra love creates the final attraction of the missing soul aspect which then combines naturally with the human soul to make a whole human or the spiritualized whole New Age Man. This process can take many months, years, or lifetimes but will come much more easily for humans in the New Ageafter 2012. This is the time honored method of enlightenment or graduation of souls from the physical universe which will become increasingly common after 2012.

This New Age Man is not the end but the beginning of mankind’s learning and experiencing of the lower negative world of existence and also higher worlds of God. Health becomes near perfect and all the psychic arts are learned in time when humans are whole again. And the universe expands exponentially when time and space are conquered in spirit.

This New Age man will seek this wholeness of spirit within the earliest stages of childhood and achieve it within the first 60 years of life in the future. And then humans will live for many hundreds of years after this wholeness of the individual soul is achieved. When this New Age Man becomes the common man of humanity then Man will leave the nest of Earth and go out into the universe in great city space ships around 3500 which Nostradamus predicted as the end of human life on Earth. Mankind will leave the Earth permanently to help other intelligent races of the universe. And then we will have to suffer again with great patients as we watch and help newraces of the universe make the same mistakes and suffer as we once did on Earth.

You could be face to face with one great guy, but the problem is you hardly know he exists! This is most likely because you don’t really know what exactly are you looking for in a man. It could be that your criteria keep changing, that you would hardly know the guy you are looking for is standing right in front of you.

You see finding the right match is not all about finding someone who passes your mom’s idea of a perfect guy for you. When it comes to choosing the man you would want to date, and perhaps eventually marry, it is not all about competing with other girls and coming out with a “prized catch”.

Nobody but you can define what qualities in a man would you find attractive. It is only your set of criteria that matters, because in the end, it’s you and not your family or friends who will be living with himfor a long time, possibly, for the rest of your life.

You can look at the options available, in the same way you do your shopping for clothes. If there is a great bargain sale going on, you shouldn’t really buy something just because it is cheap, even though it does not really match any that is already in your wardrobe.
